Tracing the words I used colours i thought communicated the words meaning.

The first fat an thin I used peach/skin colour and browns as a sort of flesh tone for the fat like a belly and the thin as grey and purple to suggest a colder kind of slimming look.

The second set the fat I used earth tones to suggest soil or solid ground and then blue for thin as water is the opposite of solid earth and so are the to words.

The first big I created a broadway vibe using bold black and yellow for the lights within the letters. As for the small I just used a soft purply pink.

The second is just bold verse soft as the Big black and the small is a light red.

For the word fun colourful is what came to mind, boring didn't need much thought surrounding colour for either I just kept them plain.

As for calm and mad I used contrasting colours for each blue and red (cold and hot) and green and (red go and stop).

After this I made two moodboards focusing on the words calm and mad. I collected some text I feel communicates the means as well as colours and imagery. The text for calm I found some elegant, soft and cursive type writing along with pastel colours. Blues,purples,greens.... For 'Mad' I found more dramatic texts and bolder writing to fit the theme. Harsher reds and viberant colours and patterns also communicates the meaning.

using these moodboards as inspiration after drawing the typed word in pencil I rendered them in various mediums.

As you can see for calm everything is very neat and evenly spaced out, I used the colours I used in the moodboard, blue, green, grey and black. the green an blue relates to the water by using watercolour and the softness off the paint fit with the theme. The grey pastel is again soft and a neutral colour, as for the black its nice and simple and fits with contrasting with the colours and still communicates the word calm.

The word mad I used a mixutre of red pencil, felt tip, fine liners and black pastel. Again referring to my moodboard I used elements to create this words meaning. The way I've made the letters messy and smudges behaves in a way that says 'Mad', the yellow and black squiggly 'A' is like the police tape and can be associated with trouble and the squiggles are chaotic. The red reminds me of fire and the movement of the pencil is like the unpredictablity of the flames. The black pastel 'D' is dramatic and quite bold and still has the messiness which seems like the way I drew it I was mad hence the smudging.
