Everday Sketchbook Part 1: Exercise 1.2
Do I allow myself to make mistakes in your sketchbook?
I did the Drawing Activity which involved drawing the front, back, left and right of the environment aorund me in different mediums, on different papers and could only be done in a max of 5 mins.
Make a note in your chosen sketchbook about how you felt whilst doing this exercise.
Did you feel:
• liberated
• scared
• anxious
• or any other emotion
During this exercise I felt that when trying to capture each part of the room I didn't know how much of the scenery I should draw because my eye view sees a lot more then I could fit onto a piece of paper so the perspective isnt the same for any angle.
Sheet 1 - The front of the room
Sheet 2 - What Is behind me
Sheet 3- To the left of me
Sheet 4 - To the right of me
Bookmaking activities
Now you have 4 small books look at each page.
• Can you work in it again with another mark-making implement or colour?
I like how they look each little page, I will maybe add a bit o colour or maybe a bit more line emphasis if I see a shape.
• Or, do you want to leave it as it is?
I do want to leave most the way they are becasue I dont really like mixing styles or adding things that doesn't go with my theme.I wont mind adding colour but to me they look done an each page i'd like to guess what part of teh envrionemnt it is rather then adding other things.
• Are other ideas sparked from looking at each page? Are you reminded of something else?
I have found a few little scribbles that look like other things and some pages look like theyre own picture ratehr than a part of the whole piece of paper.
• Which format do you prefer?
Book one was the simplest in terms of folding, it was the neatest when folded to in comparison to the others.
