Production: Part 5 - Ex1 What is your role?

 This final assignment of creating my own book will be a good challenege for me, I think all the research and exercises in this Unit has made it atad bit easier as I do have some sort of idea of the process.

The creative parts of this book I will be assigning myself to, following a publishing model from project 1

Model 1 Writer – Publisher – Editor – Designer – Production – Printer – Distribution – Retail 

Model 2 Artist/Designer/Author – Publisher – Editor – Production – Printer – Distribution – Retail

Model 2 Is the one I will be following 

The writing/Author is me , I will be making my own story.

The Illustrations  will also be me. I have a collection of cartoon characters I have already created in the past so I may either pick a few of them to expand or I will draw up brand new iamges. I will most likely be using the procreate illustration app for these. 

Designing and the typography I will also be attempting to do myself. I don't have graphics software but I will be researching how I can work around to create the right size, quality and compostions with what I have. The typography will possibly be a mixture of defaults or free fonts online and in app and maybe some freehanded thrown in there. However I may try out an official software for this book.

The graphics side of the design I may get help and advice from my uncle Andrew who is a graphic designer.

Editor - For this I will may consult my other uncle Tony who is a journalist on my writing overall and my cousin Ellie who has a degree in english linguistics.

Production/ printer- I will reverting back to previous exercises EX 2 part 2 surrounding paper types and printing companies as well as look into production and publishing companies that work with smaller independent authors/book designers. BookprintingUK, Mixam, Papersmyths. 

Retail - I will be visiting some Bookfairs or local book stores, charity shops and online for inspiration and help with the focus of my book.
